Welcome to
Autumn in Denmark.

September Newsletter 2012.

It has been a very average summer in Denmark.

Dear, this summer has been quite a mixture of rainy and sunny days.
A big downpour in Copenhagen in early July did a lot of damage and brought the traffic to a standstill for a couple of days.

July was the seventh wettest month since 1874 when Denmark started to register the rainfalls, with 113 mm of rain or 71 % over the norm for July.
The only real summer this year was a week late in spring and about 10 days in the middle of August, however the forecast for September looks pretty good with temperatures in the mid twenties.

The bad summer weather have taken its toll on some of the Danish tourists attractions, Summerland Syd, located in the southern part of the Jutland Peninsula has closed its doors, however some supporters have sat up a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Red-Sommerland-Syd/104862559665236, to collect funds to save the water park. This Facebook page is in Danish but feel free to LIKE the page.

Tallest tower record in Legoland

The first week in July Legoland in Billund mastered the building of the world’s tallest Lego tower.

31.39 metre tall, 20 centimetres taller than the previous record, over half a million of Lego bricks was used to build the tower.
More than 1700 visitors over 3 days gave a hand putting the bricks together for the record tall tower.

Copenhagen Airport is the biggest and busiest airport in Scandinavia and the main airport for SAS (Scandinavia Airline System)

The airport is also known as Kastrup Airport mainly among the local Danish people.
