Wonderful holiday island Rømø
in The Wadden Sea.

An island southwest off Ribe in the Wadden Sea on the Danish west coast. The size of the island is about 130 square kilometres,

Romo beach, Denmark.

Rømø Beach.

You drive to the island from the mainland along a 9.2 km long causeway, which was opened for the first time in 1948.
On a summers day over 10.000 cars crosses the Wadden Sea on the causeway to get to the island.

This is where you will discover the wonderful holiday island Romo "Rømø" with the widest beaches in Northern Europe.
A lot of tourists spend their time here at the beach in the northern part of the Wadden Sea.

You will see a lot of adults as well as kids flying their kites, big and small, on the beach. There is plenty of room and most of the time it is quite windy perfect conditions to fly a kite.
Last time we went to Romø there was between 75 and 100 kites in the air, very colorful.

One of the largest kite festivals in Europe are held here on Rømø.
Every year on the first week-end in September thousands of kite enthusiasts are taking over the beach with their kites, big and small in fantastic colures.

The island attracts a lot of tourists, mainly Danish, German and English and is a very different island to any other island you will find in Denmark.
